Every year, PHCC of Massachusetts awards scholarships to deserving students to help them pursue further education to help our industry move forward and increase opportunities for our member's families.

2022 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS HAVE CLOSED 

After opening the application, please immediately save it to your computer, laptop or tablet. Once saved, go to that file on your computer, open it, then fill out and save that application.

The PHCC of Massachusetts Scholarship is provided to individuals pursuing a career in the plumbing, heating, cooling industry and include students who are enrolling in a full-time degree or certificate program at a four-year college, two-year community college, technical college, Massachusetts trade school or certified apprentice program. All applicants must be sponsored by a PHCC of MA Contractor, Affiliate or Associate member in good standing.

The McGlame Wordell scholarship is named after two former long-time members of PHCC. James McGlame was President from 1961-62. Hollis Wordell was President from 1952-53. Both held education near and dear to them and both strived to improve the education of the trade and expose young people to a higher level of education and professionalism. The McGlame-Wordell Scholarship is presented to PHCC of Massachusetts Contractor member sons, daughters, and grandchildren who are pursuing a career in the plumbing, heating, cooling industry. Qualified applicants include students who are enrolled in a full-time degree or certificate program at a four-year college, two-year community college, technical college, Massachusetts Trade school, or certified apprentice program. 

The Richard J. Bilo Memorial Scholarship was created by the Bilo family after Richie, a long-time PHCC contractor member who passed away suddenly in 2003. He valued the importance of advanced education in the trades and strived to expose young people to a higher level of education and professionalism. The Richard J. Bilo Memorial Scholarship is presented to individuals pursuing a career in the plumbing, heating, cooling industry. Qualified applicants include students who are enrolled in a Massachusetts Trade school Board certified apprentice program for plumbing and/or gasfitting tier training.

The operation of scholarship funds and the awarding of scholarships are subject to the terms of the respective scholarship fund agreements. Scholarship award amounts vary depending on the size of the fund, the number of qualified applicants, and the criteria of the fund.
