PHCC of MA is the Massachusetts chapter of the oldest trade association in the construction industry - Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors, established in 1883. We represent the interests of Massachusetts' plumbing, heating and cooling contractors.
We are proactive representatives of our membership including legislative initiatives, continuing education, training, and business networking.
The mission of PHCC of MA is advance professionalism in the plumbing, heating and cooling industry through education and advocacy.

Apprentice #1- Congratulations James Peterson of John J. Maurer Inc. for winning the PHCC National Education Foundation Plumbing Apprentice Contest in Hollywood, Florida in October.
James, whose entry was sponsored by A.O. Smith, competed against 20 skilled apprentices from across the nation and showed off some incredible knowledge and craftsmanship.

Continuing Education, SESSION 8, The New Program started in September. Three-hour evening classes for gas fitters only available in Middleboro and Wakefield.
Code Change Recommendations - Governor Baker directed all state agencies to review their regulations. The State Board of Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters is asking for ideas on improvements to the Massachusetts State Plumbing and Gas Code. PHCC established a task force representing a cross section of our industry. Its report has been accepted by our Board of Directors and will be sent to the State Plumbing and Gas Board for consideration. See attached letter.
E-Licensing Now in Effect - Effective October 2015 the State's website allows licensees to maintain or apply for a license electronically. See detail.
Plumbing Board Streamlines Application Process On October 13, 2015 the Plumbing Board began accepting all applications for examination directly at their office. Applications will no longer be submitted to PSI EXAMS. See detail.

Codes Adopted - The Board of Examiners has announced the adoption of new gas regulations, effective December 5th, 2014. There will be four new sections to 248 CMR, and newer versions of NFPA gas codes will also take effect in the Commonwealth on that date. Click here for details
