PHCC of MA is the Massachusetts chapter of the oldest trade association in the construction industry - Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors, established in 1883. We represent the interests of Massachusetts' plumbing, heating and cooling contractors.
We are proactive representatives of our membership including legislative initiatives, continuing education, training, and business networking.

New Codes Adopted - The Board of Examiners has announced the adoption of new gas regulations, effective December 5th, 2014. There will be four new sections to 248 CMR, and newer versions of NFPA gas codes will also take effect in the Commonwealth on that date. Click here for details
New Pipefitter Licenses Created - The Department of Public Safety has adopted new regulations that create several pipefitter licenses categories. Licensed plumbers are among those who may be grandfathered. See the details
Major Legislative Victories
1.) Law passed directing traditional grandfather provisions for new “process piping” license. Click her for additional information.
2.) Law passed reducing retention from 10% to 5% for projects >$3million. Click here for additional information.
PHCC of MA becomes a State Board approved provider of inspector continuing education: Recent changes by the Board will offer inspectors an option to earn 4 of the required 12 hours by attending an approved class hosted at an association dinner meeting. Approved providers will teach four (4) one-hour sessions of a Board approved/created curriculum.
